Almalusa Baixa/Chiado, Lisbon

A celebration of Portuguese style in boutique packaging

Tucked away in a corner of Praça do Município, one of Lisbon’s most beautiful squares, this 28-room charming boutique hotel, gives you everything you can wish for to make your stay in Lisbon a memorable one. Praça do Município is also home to the imposing city hall and situated right in the heart of the city, complete with elegant neoclassical façades.

Award-winning Madeiran designer Giano Gonçalves has done a really good job creating a strong profile boutique hotel and a masterpiece on the Portuguese hotel scene.

The rooms are full of character, and also a celebration of rich textures, and give you a very modern take on local interior design. Colours range from taupes to soft browns to anthracite greys.

If you want a view we can highly recommend to go for a deluxe room, as they face the beautiful Praça do Município.

Housed in an 18th-century listed building, full of understated charm, where you’ll spot original painted mosaic tiles and dark Brazilian wooden beams as well as a welcoming fireplace. This hotel is celebrating all things Portuguese, from textiles to soaps to fluffy Nata pastries.

All bathrooms have excellent walk-in showers, rather than bath tubs, with a sophisticated décor of white and black shades.

The breakfast is best eaten outside in the courtyard watching the world go by and Lisbon waking up to a new day.

The Delfina Restaurant, which in France would be called a brasserie, on the ground floor serves local dishes with a contemporary touch such as tapas style fried eggs with black truffles, and traditional fried octopus with tomato rice.

The friendly staff will make their outmost to make you feel like Lisbon is your second home, happily sharing their local knowledge of restaurants, bars and how to best enjoy the city.
