TIGER MOUNTAIN POKHARA LODGE, NEPAL

Mountain retreat off-the-beaten track with incredible views of the Himalayas

Perched 1.000 feet above the Pokhara Valley with a spectacular Himalayan backdrop. Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge provides a perfect haven, the essence of tranquility.

Ideal for guests pre- and post– trek or for those wishing to take day walks exploring local communities, bird-watching or just to relax in a typical Nepalese rural setting.

The 18 rooms are tucked into stone cottages, and arranged in clusters of cottages resembling a Nepali village, and all have attached bathrooms, a private veranda plus spectacular mountain views overlooking the Himalayas.

The heart and the soul of the property is undoubtedly the main lodge where there is a central fireplace, and where everyone is gathering at the end of a long day.

The Lodge makes for an excellent base for treks further afield, while the Lodge’s guides lead hikes in the immediate area.

Most of the food comes from the local organic garden surrounding the lodge, as well as from farms in the area. Meals are served in the main lodge’s dining room or on the terrace when it’s a nice day. Daily table d’hôte menus feature a range of Nepali dishes and continental specialties with home-grown herbs taken from the garden.

The secluded and award-winning swimming pool reflects the white Himalayan peaks.

Masseurs offer a range of Ayurvedic and shiatsu therapy, and yoga and meditation sessions are also available. For the more adventurous traveller who is looking for a thrilling option, there are both paragliding and micro-light flights on offer against Annapurna’s backdrop.

The lodge is open from September to June.
