Villa Las Tronas, Sardinia

A former royal residence with old-style elegance, almost surrounded by the sea

Villa Las Tronas is possibly the most unique hotel to be found in Sardinia, gracefully standing on a natural peninsula and offering breathtaking views over the deep blue Mediterranean sea.

The royal family of Italy used it as a summer residence until the 1940’s, and Villa Las Tronas has certainly kept the historic atmosphere of an elegant aristocratic hideaway.

The hotel has 24 classically furnished rooms and suites, many of which have terraces overlooking the sea. Each room has got a unique character, with antique furnishings and an aristocratic ambience.

The main rooms in the villa have kept the atmosphere of the 19th century, even though they are modernised you still have the sense of being a guest in an old manor house by the sea.

The hotel is surrounded by beautiful gardens, and the old town of Alghero is only a ten minutes delightful seafront promenade from the hotel.

The restaurant is facing the Gulf of Alghero and will give you the chance to taste exquisite Mediterranean specialties while piano and flute music is played in the background, a very romantic setting.

There’s a spa with an indoor pool and a wide range of relaxing treatments, as well as a sauna and Turkish bath, and an outdoor pool with stunning panoramic views.

The closest sandy beach is only a couple of kilometers from the hotel, and the beaches of west Sardinia are known to be ruggedly beautiful and unspoilt. Sardinia is blessed with stunning natural scenery. The coastline is one of Italy’s most spectacular and here you’ll find golden sands and glorious beaches, but also windswept dunes and plunging white cliffs.
